Unlike a typical 100% malt whiskey, Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey is crafted from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels, making it the malt whiskey for bourbon drinkers. It delivers a richly complex profile that amplifies the nutty character found in classic Woodford Reserve. The nose opens with soft nutty notes layered with light caramel, milk chocolate and fruit, complemented by hints of brown spice, mint, brown sugar and toasted oak. On the palate, dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts unfold alongside cocoa, brown spice, bright fruit and touches of toasted coconut, finishing with subtly sweet, nutty chocolate malt notes.

Woodford Reserve Rye pays homage to history with a pre-Prohibition style mash bill of 53% rye. Spice and tobacco lead the way, supported by layers of fruit, floral and sweet aromatics that create depth and approachability. The nose is distinctly spicy with notes of rye, black pepper, cedar and cassia bark, softened by marzipan and hints of pear, apple and almond. On the palate, clove, rye, mint, molasses, sorghum and honey mingle seamlessly with subtle fruit and malt, finishing long and sweetly spiced. Versatile and complex, this rye shines neat, on ice, or as the foundation of a perfectly balanced cocktail.

An innovative twice-barreled bourbon, uniquely matured in two charred oak barrels to create its rich, layered character. After initial maturation, the bourbon is transferred to a second barrel that has been deeply toasted and lightly charred, drawing out additional soft, sweet oak notes. The nose reveals rich aromas of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak, while the palate is full-bodied with flavours of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit and spice. A long, creamy finish with lingering hints of honeyed apple completes this indulgent expression.

In 2014, the Master's Collection released the first Pinot Noir finished Kentucky Bourbon in history, Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Finish. This was followed in 2016 with the first-ever American Brandy Cask finished Bourbon. These releases featured big, bold, red and dried fruit flavours along with dark chocolate and baking spice notes. At the same time, many wineries began to age their red wines in used Woodford Reserve barrels to create a new 'Bourbon Barrel Aged' genre. These wines featured rich vanilla and caramel notes. This inspired Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall to experiment with various combinations of the three - including finishing Woodford Reserve in Sonoma County wine barrels that had originally been used to mature Woodford Reserve. The result, Sonoma Triple Finish, is a unique blend of Woodford Reserve that has been finished in Sonoma County Pinot Noir, Brandy, and former Bourbon barrels used to age red wine.
